Veterans Day Benefits

Veterans Day 2023 is Saturday, November 11. Many businesses and civic organizations take extraordinary measures to recognize the contributions of those who served in the military to preserve and protect our cherished freedoms. One gesture that many retail organizations regularly put forth is the traditional offering Veterans Day discounts. Whether a free or discounted meal, product, event, or service, discounts to the Veteran community express a simple “thank you” for sacrifices Veterans made for others.

To promote awareness of this annual tradition, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides an extensive list of offerings extended by hundreds of civic-minded companies on their VA News website. From meals to product or services, all discounts extend as a token of the organization’s respect for Veterans and their commitment.

Of course, local businesses also extend offers that may not be included in the VA’s list. We encourage you to search local media for similar announcements.

Benefits throughout the year

Beyond the Veterans Day offers, there are many companies and organizations that offer discounts to Veterans throughout the year. Covering a wide range of categories, benefits extend from automobiles to wireless and internet services.

To assist you in finding discounts, Veteran.com’s website presents hundreds of companies that offer military discounts to service members, retired military, Veterans, spouses, and families. The first part of this webpage includes Veterans Day items, many of which are included with the VA information.

The VA notes they will update their Veterans Day discounts list as they learn of more nationally available Veterans Day discounts, meals, or other ways businesses and organizations want to give back. Sharing Veterans Day and year-round discounts, free meals, and other programs brings awareness to resources available to Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors.

Please note, offers are subject to change and may not be available in all locations. Verify in advance with each offering organization.

The list goes on…

Of course, it doesn’t end there. Many sites and organizations stockpiled lists of Veterans Day discounts for Veterans and their families to reference. Be aware, for online purchases, several places require “verification” through ID.me.
