Memorial Day, of course, is the American Holiday designated to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. It’s a day of not only remembering, but of showing gratitude for those who have fallen in defense of our nation, having accepted the risk and the obligation to put their country first.

Designated officially as the last Monday in May, the Memorial Day Holiday is the day we all pause and give serious thought to the freedoms we have and how they came to be. It’s the day we’re all united as patriots, especially as we reflect on those we’ve known who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us. But beyond this single day, Memorial Day gives us the opportunity to keep our military heroes foremost in our minds,

The AMAC Foundation extends to all, and especially to military families across the nation, our heartfelt wishes for a peaceful, restful, and solemn Memorial Day celebration. This quote summarizes the enduring meaning of Memorial Day as a state of mind for all of us: “Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.” —Adlai Stevenson, former governor of Illinois.

Did you know? Each year on Memorial Day a national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.
