Moving from summer to fall, the memory of light in the past draws a stark relief to darkness in the present, and the inescapable future. Not only does this shift come with changes of season, but also ( at any time ) changes of life, heart, mind, career, and in the case of our American Veterans, service. The transition itself moves from all things good to all things uncertain. Uncertain and unstructured. For a Veteran whose career is setting, or for whom the light has faded, who has known camaraderie, structure, family, shared experience, and certainty of purpose, moving to the opposite can be ominous, even frightening; or worse, hopeless.

This September, we at the AMAC Foundation Veteran Outreach Program, with our many collaborators would like to shed light on the critical mission to prevent Veteran suicide, to stave off the shadow of hopelessness.

We don’t know who needs to see this, but we know you are out there. You are loved, your service to our nation is greatly appreciated, and your life is precious. 

If you need assistance in the transition, if you cannot see a way past your challenges, by any means possible reach out to us, or someone who will help you.
