As many of our followers know, the AMAC Foundation focuses attention on issues involving caregivers and the challenges they face. Our seminar series has in the past featured a program by VITAS Healthcare titled “Caring for the Caregiver,” and from time-to-time we’ve included articles here on our “News & Interesting Information” page. It’s an underserved topic, we feel, and we are aware that there is a fair amount of concern in the senior community around the difficulties and hurdles caregivers face. It’s often just assumed that caregivers will do what they do out of love and dedication, and that’s certainly true, but all too often the effects on their own health go undetected and unreported.

In this week’s blog article, we tackle the topic of caregiver burnout, a real and present danger for many of the committed and dedicated folks who take on the role of caring for others.
