WorkingNation, an organization focused on understanding and dealing with  workforce and employment challenges nationwide, explores the growing issue of caring for homebound seniors in a video describing the creation of a career classification titled “Care Connections Senior Aid.” The project is the result of collaboration between Bronx-based nonprofit PHI and Cooperative Home Care Associates (CHCA), with an objective of dealing with the looming workforce shortage in the homecare area. Their efforts were motivated by statistics showing that in the ten-year period from 2014 to 2024, “the home health care workforce–workers who care for aging and other clients in their home–is projected to grow by at least 630,000 new jobs, more than any other occupation.”
