In the midst of a power outages, extreme weather, a natural disaster, crisis, or other unforeseen circumstance, it may be necessary to know and utilize housing resources for emergency needs.

AssistedLiving.org is “Dedicated to Enhancing the Quality of Life of Aging Adults,”  including housing older adults with disabilities and Veterans.  They have a dedicated space for sharing emergency housing information and state-by-state resources in their Emergency Housing Guide.

FEMA is a common go-to resource after natural disasters for housing assistance information. Their Help After a Disaster brochure contains contact information and the claims/appeals process.

Housing Assistance Council provides a list of Nonprofit Organizations that may have local resources in your area.
