Seeking Veterans with paralysis for grant funded program! 

My name is Danielle Rudy, a coordinator for the Clemson University: Tutor, Talk and Train program supported by the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center Quality of Life Grants Program. I am excited to reach out to you with a new unique opportunity that we have recently received for Veterans with paralysis to be involved in a 12-month multitiered and engaging virtual program intended to decrease the effects of social isolation while promoting mental and physical health. We will only accept 15 Veteran participants into this unique funded opportunity. This program will begin in early February, 2021, so we would ask you to pass along this information or contact us with interest inquiries as soon as possible. We look forward to inviting Veterans and their caregivers into our program. The Special Reeve Foundation Grant by Clemson University

The goal of the Special Reeve Foundation Grant is to decrease social isolation for individuals with Paralysis, with the target audience of the Clemson University program being the Veteran community.

Our virtual program will run for the year, and seeks to cultivate community, wellness and opportunities for volunteering among Individuals with paralysis and their caregivers in 7 different ways in addition to a program bonus, all of which are listed below.

1. Elementary School Tutoring
2. Adaptive Yoga:
3. Adaptive Fitness/Movement Training:
4. Adaptive Sport:
5. Book/Movie Club:
6. Virtual Dinner:
7. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA):

Program Bonus: At the end of the 12-month program, we will also provide participants with support for next steps and help them prepare for the transition away from the Clemson University: Tutor, Talk and Train program with the objective of assisting their full integration into their local community by building on the skills and interests they discovered and developed throughout the program.
