Sometimes plans change. For example, someone may decide to retire from their career to live the life of Reilly and claim their Social Security benefit to help fund their new-found life of leisure, only to be presented with another work opportunity too good to pass up. They are then faced with a dilemma – returning to work will have a very negative impact on their Social Security benefits. Should they turn down the new job offer? Should they accept the offer and wait to see what happens with Social Security? Or should they take a different, more reasoned route?
The AMAC Foundation’s Social Security Advisory service was happy to provide expert advice to the person who sought our assistance on this matter, as reflected in this Encore Edition of an Ask Rusty article published in early December 2023.
