Senior Fraud: Learning from Real-Life, Local Incidents

About This Event

February 6, 2018 @ 10:00 AM 12:00 PM

According to the National Council on Aging, financial scams targeting seniors have become so prevalent that they’re now considered “the crime of the 21st century.” With security breaches continuing to hit the news, it’s critical that everyone—and seniors in particular—be alert to the scams and frauds circulating and how to prevent becoming a victim. The AMAC Foundation, in partnership with The Villages’ Citizens First Bank, will provide an update on the ingenious ways fraudsters target their prey and why they’re so difficult to spot.  And to make this topic even more relevant, the update will feature actual, real-life situations that have taken place right here in our area, and will explain the signs to watch out for.
