When Should We Claim Social Security?

Deciding when to claim Social Security can be tricky. This is a very popular question and the timing of how Social Security fits into your retirement strategy can vary for each individual or married couple. However, Ask Rusty may be able to provide some insight.

One must consider their full retirement age (FRA), earnings limit (if they are continuing to work), life expectancy, reductions to your Social Security if you claim early, and survivor benefits for your spouse. Making a decision about claiming Social Security should be done while looking at your complete circumstances.
