In this New Year, I’d like to welcome a new hope for American Veterans looking to transition from the military to the civilian sector. Enter “A Write to Heal’s Veteran Drone Training Program“. This program, founded by Lisa Regina of cinematic stardom, assists Veterans in learning to operate drones (remote aircraft) in the film industry. Of course, this training may lead to viable opportunities for future employment and/or entrepreneurship in this new and growing sector of business.

The Foundation Veteran Outreach Program would like to encourage you, our collaborators, and any Veterans in transition to look into the Veteran Drone Training Program as a way to pursue a future in the cinematic industry; and why not? Drone operations are mission oriented, task focused, detail centered. Drone pilots need sharp mental acuity, situational awareness, and physical skill to make a remote aircraft business effective and profitable. It’s as if this particular industry was tailor made for Veterans.

The Veteran Drone Training Program assists Veterans to learn the academics of flight, pass the FAA (Part 107) Remote Pilot exam, and build the skills necessary to safely operate drones to capture images in support of cinematic missions.

Opportunities to Fly

The Remote Aircraft industry does, of course, cover more than only cinematic missions. Trained Veterans can use drones to capture aerial images for use in real estate sales, disaster response, construction, and infrastructure inspection, among other things. Becoming a certificated remote pilot opens doors for Veterans in transition.

If you are a Veteran seeking a new career operating remote aircraft, but cannot attend the Veteran Drone Training Program in person, you may consider pursuing this on your own. The FAA has a step by step path to becoming a drone pilot you can follow to earn your certificate.

If you’re looking for a new hope, a new career, or a new opportunity for this new year, this may be it.
