H.R. 855 honors these physically challenged patriots by extending the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Precheck to those veterans who are amputees, paralyzed or blind at no cost. This same service is currently only offered to active duty, reserves, and National Guard service members.

The VETS Safe Travel Act will have a significant effect on the lives of the 70,000 amputee, 100,000 paralyzed and 130,000 blind veterans who now have to endure the challenges of a laborious screening process. This legislation will make the process less intrusive and easier for these veterans to partake in air travel.
