Many of our readers are responsible pet owners, and we know that they take responsibility for ensuring a healthy environment for the pets in their homes. After all, they are part of the family. Often, though, some of the commonplace aspects of everyday living and their impact on our pets can go overlooked.
With this in mind, we would like to remind all of the pet owners that smoking around pets can be extremely dangerous. While second-hand smoke is often viewed as a non-serious threat, it can actually endanger the very lives of your pets. According to NHS, around 80% of second-hand smoke is invisible to the human eye. This means that you could be endangering your pet without even realizing it. By inhaling the air filled with toxins, your pet might develop breathing and many other problems. Therefore, we remind you to keep your distance when smoking around pets.
Since this is pretty much an under-reported subject, we’ve partnered with authors Lauren Briggs and Archy Davidson to further explore the dangers to pets. You can read their thoughts here.” Also, while we’re on the topic of pets and their roles in our lives, here’s a link to an article posted a few months ago on this page. In care you missed it, you might want to check it out.
