Recognizing the critical nature of what we do and its importance to those we serve, we’ve taken steps at the AMAC Foundation to maintain the continuity of our Social Security Advisory Service during the pandemic disruption sweeping the country. By re-deploying our certified Advisors to work at home and providing the necessary communication equipment to receive and respond to requests, we are able to remain seamlessly available to those who need us as they navigate the complexities of Social Security. And, as always, this service is provided to the general public free of charge.
Our Advisory Service, established in 2016, has grown to be a vital source of help to seniors as they deal with this massive benefit program. With five trained and accredited Advisors, we have responded to more than 10,000 requests for assistance since our 2016 launch, and have been instrumental in helping constituents make the decisions so critical to their financial well-being. Providing credible, unbiased information to people in, or aging into, Social Security is fundamental to the Foundation’s mission of supporting and educating America’s Seniors.

I have a question concerning Maximum Benefits and why I am not receiving them. When I filed originally at age 70 in 1997
I was given the maximum due to my work record and was assured as much. I have received Cost of living increases over the years like every body else and never gave it a thought until recently I read the Maximum Benefit for 2020 would be $3,010 / month and I now receive $2629 / month before Medicare deductions which is $381 difference. Due to long lines at the Local SS office I called their 800 number in January and received a call back in about 2 weeks. The agent was very helpful and as I explained it to him he checked some figures and agreed with me and didn’t understand why there should a difference. He said he would pass the question on to his Supervisor and they would get back to me but don’t expect an answer for a couple months maybe April. April has come and gone and no word. My question is,. do they owe me money? Please advise if you know the answer or if you have access to someone at SS who can answer this question. Thanks for any help you can give me.
