WakeUp Carolina’s “Serving Those Who Served” (STWS) is a specialized, peer-led veteran support initiative addressing substance use and transition challenges for military veterans, helping them find purpose and community post-service in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, offering connection and resources for healing from military-to-civilian life struggles. Led by fellow veteran JR Weaver, this vital program provides a safe space, especially during isolating times like holidays, to foster resilience, combat loneliness, and integrate military culture with real-world recovery.
