VETERAN SISTERS

Veteran Sisters is committed to advocacy. We want to use our platform to raise awareness of MST and effect real change. We are working to #StopMST before it starts by engaging with lawmakers to ensure service members who commit sexual violence and sexual assault are held accountable consistently.

Promoting awareness for MST, its unique sensitivities and triggers, is a mission dear to our hearts.  We are happy to report that our advocacy is creating real change for our members.  In the last year, through our advocacy and education, the San Diego County Probation made a small procedure change that improved accountability, thereby reducing instances of Veterans being needlessly triggered.  Another small change implemented as a result of our advocacy was took place at a homeless transitional housing program in Oceanside, Calif. where they now require night checks to be conducted by two staff members, improving security for both the residents and the staff.
