Mission
We have found that service to our Country can cause wounds and suffering that lasts beyond the length of duty. Our mission is to heal the wounds, to restore dignity, hope and self-sufficiency to all homeless Veterans in need and to reduce homelessness and poverty among our local Veterans.
North Olympic Regional Veteran’s Housing Network (NORVHN) is a 501©3 non-profit specifically serving the homeless Veterans of Clallam and Jefferson Counties. Our grassroots non-profit first began in 2000, but was retrofitted to a Veteran only focus in 2011.
Our first project, Sarge’s Place, was opened that fall with money from First Federal Savings & Loan, the Ben Phillips Foundation and an appropriation from Senator Patty Murray. These monies allowed us to purchase an existing 2-story apartment building in Forks, remodel and get into the business of helping homeless Veterans.
In 2014, NORVHN paired with the Peninsula Housing Authority and received a Department of Commerce Housing Trust Fund grant for $500k, allowing us to purchase an existing 4-plex apartment building in Port Angeles, which was then remodeled and repurposed for homeless Veterans and their families, called The Outpost.
