SUMMARY:Sudden Death - Sep 2024 (in person)

Will they be able to locate your most current will\, health care directives\, and documented funeral wishes? Conducted in three separate two-hour sessions\, we’ll walk you through identifying what needs to be considered\, assembling the material as we go in an accessible format\, and we’ll be developing an approach to maintaining the material so that it’s always current. You’ll leave with a physical roadmap that will be of immeasurable value to your family. \n\n\n\nThere is no cost for this workshop series\, but attendance is limited so you must register to attend. Light refreshments will be served at each session. Notebook materials will be provided.

SUMMARY:Veterans Get Outside Day (MVA)
DESCRIPTION:The Veterans Get Outside Day is an initiative led by Military Veteran’s Advocacy (MVA) – for their event held in Rhode Island\, click here. “Studies have shown that individuals who spend time outdoors in natural settings\, whether they are doing sports or other activities\, have a better outlook on life. It is hoped that this event will encourage Veterans and others that may be struggling to find an activity or resources that will excite them about spending more time outside and enjoy life. It is hoped that events like Veteran Get Outside Day can help bridge that gap.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo combat the typical challenges and provide resources\, AMAC Foundation established collaborative partnerships with Veteran-related organizations through Foundation Veteran Outreach Program (FVOP). \n\n\n\nFor more about FVOP\, or to submit a story\, please visit our For Veterans page. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nNotice: The links provided above connect readers to the full content of the referenced information. SUMMARY:WEP/GPO: Repeal or Not? You Decide.
DESCRIPTION:Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset – Our Social Security Advisory staff will examine the origin of these two controversial Social Security provisions. \n\n\n\nWe’ll discuss the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset and their impact on Social Security’s retirement\, spousal\, and survivor benefits\, beginning with a review of an important ingredient in understanding the arguments pro and con—the methodology governing how Social Security benefits are calculated. Examples of the relationship between calculated benefits and Social Security’s progressive income replacement design will be used to illustrate the impact of these two much debated provisions.

Will they know where your financial information and tax records\, insurance records\, and investment documents are stored? Will they be able to locate your most current will\, health care directives\, and documented funeral wishes? Can they locate important household documents\, like deeds\, car titles\, and pension statements? \n\n\n\nThe list goes on and on\, but the important point is that having this type of pertinent information organized and available in a structured place is something you can do in advance for those you leave behind. It’s a big task and it’s not an easy one…we know that. But with a structured approach\, you can create a living document that will prove invaluable to your loved ones. \n\n\n\nThis seminar has been structured to guide you through the process of creating your “Survivor Notebook\,” the repository that will help your loved ones cope after your passing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPre-Registering Required\n\n\n\nThis seminar has a considerable amount of work leading up to the event and interaction between speakers and participants – Participants will receive formal notebook and various reference materials\, all assembled in advance. We prefer to collect registrations ahead of time; although we will have additional handouts\, it is difficult to accommodate walk-ins for this event. \n\n\n\nIf you register and find you are unable to attend\, please let us know\, so we can offer that space to someone on our waiting list.
