SUMMARY:Sudden Death – Are You Prepared?
DESCRIPTION:Sudden Death: Are You Prepared?\nAttention: This event is comprised of three two-hour sessions.  \nHere are the dates of all three sessions: Thursdays – July 20th\, July 27th\, August 3rd – 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm \nLocation: Mission Oaks Memory Care\, Oxford \nIf you passed away tomorrow\, will your loved ones know what to do? Will they know where your financial information and tax records\, insurance records\, and investment documents are stored? Will they be able to locate your most current will\, health care directives\, and documented funeral wishes? Can they locate important household documents\, like deeds\, car titles\, and pension statements? \nThe list goes on and on\, but the important point is that having this type of pertinent information organized and available in a structured place is something you can do in advance for those you leave behind. It’s a big task and it’s not an easy one…we know that. But with a structured approach you can create a living document that will prove invaluable to your loved ones. \nThis seminar has been structured to guide you through the process of creating your “Survivor Notebook\,” the repository that will help your loved ones cope after your passing. Conducted in three separate two-hour sessions\, we’ll walk you through identifying what needs to be considered\, assembling the material as we go in an accessible format\, and we’ll be developing an approach to maintaining the material so that it’s always current. You’ll leave with a physical roadmap that will be of immeasurable value to your family. \nThere is no cost for this workshop series\, and light refreshments will be served at each session. Notebook materials will be provided \nTo register: \nContact the AMAC Foundation\, 888-750-2622 or email: info@amacfoundation.org

SUMMARY:New to Medicare Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will cover the details those aging into Medicare eligibility need to know. We’ll focus on the terminology used by practitioners and Medicare administrators\, the key decisions that Medicare newcomers need to make\, the timing considerations that need to be understood\, and a host of issues critical to navigating this senior benefit program. \nLed by a seasoned professional with extensive familiarity in the insurance industry\, the workshop will provide a clear perspective on the road leading to successful Medicare sign-up. The general intent is to ensure that attendees leave with an understanding of the basics of Medicare and its major components. No products will be marketed at the workshop…it is simply a service to make newcomers comfortable with the many facets of the program. \nLight refreshments will be served\, and time for questions will be provided\, along with several helpful handouts supporting the information covered in the workshop. \nNote also that\, for those unable to attend the morning session\, we will be hosting a repeat session at 5:30 pm the same day. \nSeating is limited…deadline for registration is Friday\, July 14\, 2017 at 5:00 pm. \nNOTE LOCATION CHANGE: This session will be held at AMAC’s Leesburg Office…call for directions (888-750-2622).

SUMMARY:Understanding Veterans Aid & Attendance Benefits
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will explore a little-known benefit available to U.S. Armed Forces veterans who were on active duty during a period of war. It’s titled “Pension With Aid and Attendance”\, and it could be a life-changer for many men and women who require home care or care in a health care facility and require the assistance of another person (for bathing\, dressing\, medication monitoring and other activities of daily living). \nThe Pension With Aid and Attendance benefit is available to veterans and their spouse\, and also to surviving spouses and to spouses of a healthy veteran in need of care. Veterans having the wartime service credits only need to demonstrate that caregiver assistance\, or a living facility more suitable to their physical limitations is required\, and that they have a financial need. \nKim Lanning\, representing Caring Avenues\, will provide education on this important benefit and will help attendees understand how to take advantage of the benefit to improve their lives. \nThe session will begin at 10:00 am and is scheduled to conclude by 11:30 am\, although Ms. Lanning and Foundation staff representatives will be on-hand afterward to respond to questions and provide any further assistance anyone might need. \nDeadline for registration is Friday\, June 16\, 2017. Light refreshments will be provided before and during the session. \nJoin us and learn!\n  \n
