Several AMAC Foundation representatives have earned accreditation as National Social Security Advisors, qualifying them to counsel retirees and pre-retirees on questions and issues pertaining to Social Security. The training preceding the qualification exam equips these Advisors to provide guidance to clients on the many Social Security options available, and enables them to provide a trusted service to the public. Accreditation is earned through the Ohio-based National Social Security Association (NSSA).
These professionals - Arlene Sharp, Eileen Cook, Sharon Kleczka, Russell Gloor, Ken Baron, and Gerry Hafer - are available to handle questions submitted to the Foundation.
“The accreditation of our staff members is critical to our mission of supporting and educating America’s seniors,” reports AMAC President Dan Weber, “and we believe that by providing credible, unbiased information to people in, or aging into, Social Security is an important part of what the Foundation does. And, since the Foundation is a tax-exempt organization relying solely on contributions from the public to operate, there is no charge for this valuable service.”
In 2013, we launched an informative website that provides breaking news, policy updates, and a whole lot of current information about what’s going on in Washington and around the country concerning Social Security. Updated daily, this site posts hundreds of current bipartisan news alerts each month, maintains a searchable library of hundreds of frequently asked questions about Social Security, and houses a library of informative white papers and documents on major issues affecting Social Security and its related topics.
Visit NowSimilar to the Social Security Report, our “Medicare Report” website is a source of extensive information on Medicare and its components, including the history, current status, and detail documentation of Medicare’s primary parts. The site also features a daily recap of breaking news about website, channeling alerts, legislative updates, and a variety of informative news about this vital senior program.
Visit NowSince our 2014 launch, the AMAC Foundation has operated a seminar series designed to present topics of interest and importance to America’s seniors. This initiative continued in the 2018-2019 period over 60 separate sessions presented. Topics covered ranged from benefits-related seminars to workshops on technical issues important to older Americans. Nearly 2,000 seniors have attended these free seminars, and the feedback has been tremendous. Furthermore, each of these sessions gives us the ability to make additional members of the public aware of AMAC and the AMAC Foundation. In 2020, of course, we needed to suspend live seminars due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As an alternative, we shifted to online webinars, with the hope that live seminars can resume ay=t some point in 2021.
