At its June 13, 2017 quarterly board meeting, the Foundation elected New York resident Kurt Meyer to its Board of Directors. Mr. Meyer becomes the eleventh member of the Foundation’s governing body, and will be adding substantial depth in the organization’s strategic planning activities in the months and years ahead. Gerry Hafer, Foundation Executive Director, noted that Kurt brings with him a wealth of familiarity and exposure to the non-profit world, complemented by extensive experience in a number of business settings in his 30+ year career.

Presently, Kurt is Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for AMAC, Inc. and in this role coordinates much of the interaction with entities seeking to establish business ventures with the organization. With many years of corporate management experience in the defense, finance, and dental insurance sectors, Kurt has progressed through a variety of management and executive positions during the development of a career rich in entrepreneurial spirit and business leadership.

During his career, Kurt has held executive positions at Grumman Aerospace Corporation, Chase Manhattan Bank, Union Bank of Switzerland, Brighton Credit Corporation, ArcLoan.com, and EDP Dental Plan before forming the Strategic Business Network, Inc, a management consulting company, in 2006.

Kurt is a 1984 graduate of C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.

As a community leader, Mr. Meyer has served on the Board of Directors of several non-profit organizations including:

The Long Island Works Coalition
The Children’s Sport Connection
The Alzheimer’s Association, Long Island Chapter

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer ’s Disease Resource Center and the LIU Post Alumni Association.

In December 2013, Mr. Meyer was accepted into the National Association of Distinguished Professionals, a national association comprised of executives and professionals throughout the United States.

Mr. Meyer currently resides in Fort Salonga, New York with his wife, Lynn and their two sons, Kyle and Jared.
